EXAMPLE: A Bank of Canada decision and housing
Example only. Shows how a policy-rate note should talk about housing without inventing a decision.
This file is an example of the post format. It is not a published take, and it does not report a real decision.
A Bank of Canada note should name the decision, then follow it into housing through the paths that actually transmit it: variable-rate payments, the qualification rate on new mortgages, renewal risk on fixed terms coming due, and the cost of builder and developer financing. The resale market does not reprice on announcement day. The note should say which of those paths the decision touches, and which it does not.
Leave chart empty until there is a real figure. A path such as /charts/2026-10-boc.svg renders under the take.
